CITY OF DELMAR REGULAR
CITY COUNCIL MEETING
May 3, 2006
The Delmar City Council met in regular session on May 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the Delmar Council Chambers. Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present at roll call: Jebsen, Kennicker, Goodall, Eberhart, Simmons.
M/S Simmons, Jebsen to approve the consent agenda as presented: Roll call vote: All ayes.
Sheriffs report with 52.08 hours being spent in Delmar and 4 citations being issued.
Landfill report-no bid received yet from prospective buyer of landfill and the digestor is up and running.
No crime stoppers report and no water report at this time.
Water Project updates-M/S Goodall, Eberhart to approve the extension for Northway Well & Pump to August 2, 2006. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Simmons to approve the change order for the repair of the meter. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/G Goodall, Kennicker to approve payment of $112,266.40 to Northway Well & Pump for work completed to date. Roll call vote: All ayes.
Mat Saur from MSA Professional Services attended the meeting to update the council on the status of the water project to date.
M/S Eberhart, Simmons to approve the building permit for Ron Ruggeberg for a shed. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Simmons, Goodall to approve the building permit for John & Crystal Manning for a fence. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Jebsen to approve the building permit for Tom Nicolls for a shed. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Jebsen to approve the building permit for a garage addition. Roll call vote: All ayes.
M/S Goodall, Simmons to approve the new contract with the Clinton County Sheriffs Department with an increase of $2.13 per hour. Roll call vote: All ayes.
The city council reviewed the ordinance drawn up by Steve Kahler, City Attorney and found no revisions to be needed. The first reading will be held on June 7, 2006.
The city clerk was instructed to order signs for the new well area regarding “No spraying allowed” within a 200 foot radius of the well.
Complaints discussed-alley surveying request: if a property owner needs or wants to know where their lot lines are it is there responsibility to have their property surveyed to see where their property ends along an alley way.
Clerk was instructed to contact the sheriffs department about cars with expired plates or no plates on them.
Stella Franck attended the meeting to update the city council and discuss vandalism issues with the sheriffs department. The vandalism has been going on now for numerous months and she asked the deputy if closer watch could be made in her area in the future.
