CITY OF DELMAR REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Aug. 1, 2007

The Delmar City Council met in regular session on August 1, 2007 at the Delmar Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.  Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order with the following members present at roll call:  Jebsen, Trenkamp, Goodall, Eberhart.  Simmons was absent.  Mayor Johnson called for a motion to approve the consent agenda.  M/S Jebsen, Trenkamp to approve the consent agenda as presented.  Roll call vote:  All ayes.  No sheriffs report, no landfill report.  Crime Stoppers report by Goodall with everything going smooth and report that the magnets are now on trucks and pens with Crime Stoppers information are being distributed.  Water and sewer report not available at this time.

A building permit was submitted by Mary DeLarm for a new gargage.  Mayor Johnson called for a motion to approve the permit.  MS Goodall, Trenkamp to approve the building permit for Mary DeLarm for a garage.  Roll call vote:  All ayes.  Jim Holz from MSA attended the meeting to provide the council with estimates to do a sewer evaluation and review the system at a total cost of $11,000.  Council at this time tabled the estimates until the televising of the sewer lines are complete and reviewed by our certified operators and council. 

Clerk McCallister informed the council of the city being awarded a $500.00 grant to put towards the new park equipment that has been ordered from Alliant Energy.  Mayor Johnson asked the clerk to explain the FSC request to the city council.  Clerk McCallister advised the council of the request from John Lary owner of FSC to do the filling, leveling and seeding of the area dug up when his water line was installed.  The council advised the clerk to inform FSC that it is their responsibility to put the ground back to the previous condition and not the city’s. 

Two dog at large complaints were filed by a local resident to the council.  Upon decision by the council the clerk was advised to write a letter to the complaintant that when the dog is again at large to call the sheriffs department with the complaint.  Maintenance submitted a bid for a new chain saw as repairs to the existing one are not possible.  The new chain saw was bid at $287.00 from Clarks Saw Center.  Mayor Johnson called for a motion to purchase the chainsaw.  M/S  Goodall, Eberhart.  Roll call vote:  All ayes.
